What do I need to do to organise travel insurance for my approved University travel?


Students undertaking travel for approved University purposes will not be charged for cover under the University’s corporate travel insurance. Travelling students will be automatically covered under the insurance policy. Students are still required to register for travel insurance using the web portal so the policy documentation can be emailed -https://www.flinders.edu.au/integritygovernancerisk/insurance/travel-insurance/register.cfm

In some cases eg. where the student’s travel exceeds 180 days; or private travel is undertaken for more than 50% of the approved University travel, the student will need to arrange top-up cover for an additional premium. In such cases, the top-up cover will be arranged directly through the University’s insurance broker so the University is not involved.
