Gmail (Mail Forwarding): Configuring Email & Calendar

Forward your Wharton email:

If you prefer to use an external account such as Gmail as your primary email source, you can opt to forward your Wharton email to it. By choosing this option, any email sent to your Wharton email account (your username@wharton.upenn.edu) or your Wharton lifelong email address will be forwarded to the address that you specify.

  1. Log in to Spike and click on the My Account tab.
  2. Choose My Email from the left menu.
  3. Select the Forward/Unforward your email link.

Keep in mind:

  • Forwarded email is not stored on Wharton email servers and cannot be recovered; it bypasses Wharton email server security measures and is not scanned for viruses or processed through the spam filters.
  • If you would still like to send email from your Wharton address, you will need to specify the "reply to" address as your Wharton address. This is required by security measures in place on the Wharton email servers. (Note: Not all email programs allow you to set the "reply to" address).
