I'm trying to access Tibia, but nothing happens; what should I do?
If you are trying to get to Tibia through the start menu Start -> Run and typing \\tibia) but nothing happens, or if you are trying to map a drive to Tibia and a permission denied error message appears you might need to change some networking settings. First, try connecting to \\tibia.rose-hulman.edu instead of \\tibia. If that fails, try the following steps:
- Ensure that you are logged in as the administrator (Local Mgr) or that you have administrator rights. If you don't, you will not be able to follow these instructions.
- Right click on My Network Places and select Properties
- Double click on the Local Area Connection icon
- Click on the Properties button in the lower left corner.
- In the list in the middle of the window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on the Properties button on the right side of the window
- Ensure that the options Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.
- Click on the Advanced button at the bottom of the window
- Click on the WINS tab and ensure that the NetBIOS setting is set to Default and that there are no servers listed.
If you changed any settings, Apply them and close the windows that have been opened.
If you had to log into the machine as localmgr or any other administrator account, logout and log back into the Kerberos realm with your username and password. Then retry connecting to Tibia.
If you still cannot access Tibia, contact the Help Desk via email or by calling x8989. Alternate Questions/Keywords
