How do I connect to Rose-Hulman's network from home?
If you have a third-party ISP, use the VPN Client for Windows. See the VPN documentation for more details. It should be noted that if you are having trouble connecting to the Rose network and have a Roadrunner cable connection, you may need to call their customer service center and ask that ports 500 through 4500 be opened so that you can connect. Following software installation, authenticate using your Rose-Hulman username and password. The VPN allows a remote user to access various campus resources such as: network-licensed software (ANSYS, MATLAB, etc), network file shares (AFS, DFS), software distribution server, and library resources such as ProQuest, EBSCO, IEEE Explore and others.
Otherwise, if you are in the Terre Haute area, you can dial-up to the modem bank. See the Dialup documentation for more details. The Dialup phone number is 812-877-1004.
