<![CDATA[<p>How do I setup Movian VPN; how do I setup VPN on my Pocket PC device?</p><p><span id="bodyfont" style="font-family:Verdana; font-size: 10pt;">The Movian VPN Client is a Nortel Contivity-compatible VPN client for the Pocket PC. IAIT has acquired 150 licenses for use with the institute-owned iPaqs. If you have an institute-owned iPaq, you will need this software in order to use your iPaq with the Rose wireless network. This client is preinstalled on the iPaqs distributed to the students through the HP Mobility grant program. The Movian VPN client is not available for download directly. You must bring your iPaq to the Help Desk for the client to be installed and configured.
<p>Students or Faculty with a non-institute owned iPaq or other Pocket PC 2002 device can purchase the VPN client from a third-party. The VPN client for Pocket PC is called Movian VPN and is developed by <a href="http://www.certicom.com/" target="_blank">Certicom</a>. A demo version can be obtained from the <a href="https://webapps.certicom.com/eval/" target="_blank">Certicom Movian VPN Evaluation page</a>. To continue using it after 30 days you will need a license. The cost is $50 per license and the license may be purchased from <a href="http://www.corp.insight.com/site/L4.cfm?item_number=MRV%2D0301%2D5033" target="_blank">Insight</a> (manufacturer's part number: MRV-0301-5033). After you have obtained a copy of the evaluation version and the license, the client will have to be configured by the IAIT staff. For more information see Advanced Setup below. </p>
<p>Note that there are separate versions and licenses for the Movian VPN client for Pocket PC 2002 and 2003. Make sure that you download and purchase the correct version. </p>
<h3>Basic Setup</h3>
<p>The first time you use the VPN client, you will need to add your username to the configuration so that you are not prompted for it when you try to connect. </p>
<ul>
<li>Run the Movian VPN client from the Start Menu on your iPaq.
<li>Select the Wireless Policy and click Edit.
<li>Click Continue at the bottom.
<li>Enter your username in the User Name box and click Done.
<li>Repeat this procedure for the Off Campus profile. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Login to the VPN</h3>
<ul>
<li>Run the Movian VPN client from the Start Menu on your iPaq.
<li>Select the Wireless Policy.
<li>Click Login.
<li>If you are prompted for your username, enter it. It will be masked by stars. You should follow the above procedure so that you don't have to enter your username each time you connect.
<li>Enter your password in the Reply box when prompted and click OK.
<li>After a few seconds the Banner message will be displayed. Click OK.
<li>Click OK to close the IKE Status Messages box.
<li>Click Exit to close the VPN client box. Note that this will not end your session. A status icon will be located in the tray at the bottom of the screen. </li>

<p>Tapping on the status icon in the tray will open the main screen again. Notice the Tools menu at the bottom. There are several statistics pages on that menu that may be of interest. </p>
<h3>Disconnect from the VPN</h3>
<p>If you turn off your iPaq, it will automatically disconnect. However, the status icon in the tray will still be displayed. Clicking on it will open the main screen from which you can reconnect. </p>

<li>Return to the main screen by clicking the status icon in the tray at the bottom of the screen.
<li>Click Logout.
<li>Click OK.
<li>Click Exit to quit the program or Login to reconnect. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Advanced Setup</h3>
<p>If you have purchased your own copy of Movian VPN for your Pocket PC 2002/2003 device, you will need to install and configure the client before it will work with the RHIT VPN servers. </p>
<ul>
<li>The VPN client and license are installed by placing your iPaq in the cradle and running the installer from your PC. Install the client first and then the license.
<li>Next, (on your Pocket PC) run the VPN client from the Programs folder on the Start menu.
<li>Click New in the VPN client to setup a new policy.
<li>Enter a name such as "Rose WLAN"
<li>In the list under the policy name select Nortel Contivity Series.
<li>Enter the gateway address (137.112.9.14).
<li>Check the Perfect Forward Secrecy box and the Use Extended Authentication box.
<li>Select Username and Password from the list at the bottom.
<li>Click Continue.
<li>Enter your username in the User Name box (NOT the Group Name box).
<li>Click IKE Suite.
<li>Select GRP2_DH-1024 from the top list and click Continue.
<li>Click Done.
<li>You can delete the policy by clicking Delete on the main client screen and change its settings by clicking Edit.
<li>You also need to tell the VPN client which network card to use. Click Options at the bottom.
<li>Click on you network card. It is probably something similar to iPAQ WLAN Wireless Adapter.
<li>You will be prompted to soft reset your iPaq.
<li>You will need to bring your iPaq to IAIT to have the Group Name and Password entered. The client will not work without this information. </li>
