Did the webCafé Classic Team or any other Wharton Computing office send me a message requesting my password, or about "security measures" or other suspicious topics?
Some of you might have recently received emails which appear to be from Wharton or Penn, and which ask you to reply to the email and send your password. Similar messages you might receive might advise that you may "confirm your account" or resolve "account security" or "compromised computer" issues by clicking a link or downloading an attachment in the email. Please note that any emails were NOT sent by Wharton Computing nor by the University of Pennsylvania; the sender or "from" address was faked. Neither Wharton Computing nor Penn will ever ask you to send your password. Some of these faked messages are hoaxes, while others are generated by compromised computers. In some cases the faked email will include an attachment that is also infected with a virus, or a link to a web form that is "phishing" for personal information. Please do not open any attachments in these messages or click any links. Delete these e-mails from your e-mail account as soon as you get them.
