<![CDATA[<p>When installing the eRoom plug-in, I'm warned about "ActiveX". Is this safe?</p><p><span id="bodyfont" style="font-family:Verdana; font-size: 10pt;"><p>Installing the optional eRoom plug-in software for use with <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em> may trigger a security message about ActiveX, especially if your computer uses Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista. The eRoom plug-in is based on the ActiveX control technology; even if your browser is prompting about "risk," it is OK in this case to accept this particular ActiveX control.</p>
<p>By way of explanation, certain "spyware" and other malware has been based on ActiveX, which is one of Microsoft's technologies for making browser-based software work directly with your computer's files and Internet connection. However, the eRoom plug-in is not malware.</p>
<p>Here is one such ActiveX message, along with how you can confirm that it's OK to install the plug-in:</p>

<li>Open up Internet Explorer and look just below the address bar. Click on the area just above <em>eRoom plug-in setup</em> that says <em>"This site might require the following ActiveX control...."</em> A popup will appear and you will want to select "Install ActiveX Control." </li>
