<![CDATA[<p>How do I apply or remove the "read-only" setting?</p><p><span id="bodyfont" style="font-family:Verdana; font-size: 10pt;"><p>If the access control for a folder or other container item (such as a note, discussion topic, or any other <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em> item that can hold other items or comments) is set to "read-only," no one can create or edit any items at that specific folder level.</p>
<p>To inspect or change the "read-only" access control setting:</p>

<li>Right-click on the item or file, then choose <strong>Access Control</strong>. (Or you can check off the item's checkbox and then click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">access</span> toolbar button. To expose checkboxes if they are not shown, click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">commands</span> button.)<br />

For the top-level folder of a room, go to the left-side navigation map and right-click on its <img alt="" src="https://supportcenteronline.com/FileManagement/Download/b567b0d3cba84de7b5180eb69e2cb017" /> icon. From the right-click menu you will be able to choose the <strong>Access Control</strong> option. <br />

<li>The <em>Access Control</em> screen will appear. You'll see a checkbox next to "Read-only (not editable)". Check this setting in order to restrict editing, item and comment creation at this folder level. Uncheck this setting in order to enable editing and item/comment creation.<br />
