<![CDATA[<p>How can I use the eRoom plug-in under Windows 7, or for drag/drop of files or folders between <STRONG>web</STRONG><EM>Café</EM> and my Windows Vista-based computer?</p><p><span id="bodyfont">
<p>After installing and activating the optional eRoom plug-in software on a computer running the Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating system, you may find that the plug-in functionality does not initially work. In particular, drag and drop of files between your computer and an eRoom won't initially work in Internet Explorer on 32-bit Windows Vista or Windows 7. </p>
<p>It should be possible to use the steps below to get the plug-in working on a compute running 32-bit Windows Vista; these same steps may work temporarily for 32-bit Windows 7, but we can't guarantee that they will always work. EMC Software expects to release a fix for the plug-in running under 32-bit versions of Windows 7 during calendar year 2010. (Unfortunately, there are no definite plans for plug-in support on 64-bit operating systems.)</p>
<p>To get the plug-in working using Internet Explorer under Windows Vista -- or to attempt to get it to work with Windows 7 -- add <nobr><strong>web</strong><em>Café</em></nobr> to your "Trusted Sites" as follows:</p>

<li>Pull down the <strong>Tools</strong> menu, then choose <strong>Internet Options</strong><em><strong>.</strong></em> <br />
</li>
<li>In the <em>Internet Options</em> window, select the <strong>Security</strong> tab, click on <em>Trusted sites</em> to highlight it, then press the <strong>Sites</strong> button. <br />
</li>
<li>A <em>Trusted Sites </em>window will pop up. At the bottom of this window, make sure the "Require server verification..." checkbox is <em>not </em>checked.<br />
</li>
<li>In the "Add this website to the zone" box of the <em>Trusted Sites</em> window, type each of the following websites into the provided blank, then press the <strong>Add</strong> button:

<li>Press<strong> Close</strong> to dismiss the <em>Trusted Sites</em> pop-up window. <br />

<li>Back in the <em>Internet Options</em> window, make sure that <em>Trusted sites</em> is highlighted and that the checkbox at the bottom of the screen for "Enable Protected Mode" is not checked. <br />
</li>
<li>Press <strong>OK</strong> to close <em>Internet Options</em>. <br />
</li>
<li>Close all web browser windows, then return to <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em>'s My eRooms page:<br />

<li>Click the <strong>my member info </strong>button. On the <em>Software Options </em>screen which appears next, choose "eRoom plug-in software", then press <strong>OK</strong>. </li>

<p>You should now be able to drag and drop a file or folder. Make sure you position your mouse over the icon -- not the title or filename -- when starting a copy/paste or drag/drop operation, or when right-clicking to get the eRoom software's pop-up context menu for that item (with <em>View</em>, <em>Edit</em>, <em>Rename</em>, etc.):</p>

<p>If the title or file name is dragged/dropped within a <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em> room-- or from a folder in one <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em> room to a destination folder in another room -- a "shortcut" link to the original item may be created instead. In general with <strong>web</strong><em>Café</em> you should click or drag using the icon, not the name, of a file or folder.</p>
