How can I use the eRoom plug-in under Windows 7, or for drag/drop of files or folders between webCafé and my Windows Vista-based computer?
After installing and activating the optional eRoom plug-in software on a computer running the Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating system, you may find that the plug-in functionality does not initially work. In particular, drag and drop of files between your computer and an eRoom won't initially work in Internet Explorer on Windows Vista or Windows 7. To get the plug-in working using Internet Explorer under Windows Vista or Windows 7, add webcafe.wharton.upenn.edu You should now be able to drag and drop a file or folder. Make sure you position your mouse over the icon -- not the title or filename -- when starting a copy/paste or drag/drop operation, or when right-clicking to get the eRoom software's pop-up context menu for that item (with View, Edit, Rename, etc.): The right position: If the title or file name is dragged/dropped within a webCafé room-- or from a folder in one webCafé room to a destination folder in another room -- a "shortcut" link to the original item may be created instead. In general with webCafé you should click or drag using the icon, not the name, of a file or folder.
