<li>Right-click on the icon for the folder or item, then choose <strong>Access Control</strong>. (Or you can check off the item's checkbox and then click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">access</span> toolbar button. To expose checkboxes if they are not shown, click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">commands</span> button.) The <em>Access Control</em> screen will appear.<br />

<li>Press the topmost of two "people" buttons (to the right of the "Open" field). The <em>Access Control:Who Can Open</em> screen will appear. <br />

<li>Under "Coordinators, plus these members," check off the names of the users you wish to allow to open this folder or item. <em><strong>Important:</strong> </em>Unless you are a coordinator of the room, be certain to check off your own name; otherwise, you may lock yourself out of future access to this item if you do not include yourself.<br />

After completing your selections, press <span style="background-color: #cccccc">OK</span> to return to the <em>Access Control</em> screen. <br />

<li>If you would like to hide the folder or item from users who cannot open it, check the <em>Hidden (only shown to members who can open it)</em> checkbox.<br />

<li>Press <span style="background-color: #cccccc">OK</span> to close the <em>Access Control</em> screen.</li>

<p>This makes your folder or other item private so that only the selected members can open it and receive e-mail about additions/changes to that folder. </p>
<p>An item that is hidden will appear under "Your Hidden Items" within the eRoom or folder which contains the item. A restricted item that is <em>not </em>hidden will appear "grayed out" and un-clickable to members who do not have access to open the item.</p>
<p>Restricted and hidden settings aren't just for folders -- you may also do the above with any eRoom item (Note, Poll, etc.) for which you have edit rights.</p>
