When I click on a PDF file in webCafé, it doesn't seem to download but instead opens in the browser or shows a blank page. How can I download or print the file?
When you click on an icon for an Office or PDF file, it may appear in the Web browser rather than the application window, making it difficult to save or print. Some PDF files may display a blank white or gray page -- or show a Stopped message at the bottom of the browser window -- rather than the file. Here’s how to work around these issues: 1) In your Adobe Reader or Acrobat software, in the Edit menu choose Preferences..., and in the pop-up Preferences window choose Internet. If "Display PDF if browser" is checked, uncheck it and press OK. This change can be especially helpful if you are getting a Stopped message in Firefox. 2) By right-clicking on the filename rather than the icon, you can select Save Target As… (IE) or Save Link As... (Firefox, Safari, Chrome) to download the file directly to your PC for reading or printing: A Save As pop-up dialog will appear, allowing you to save the file to a particular drive or folder. NOTE: At times in Wharton public computing labs, if Acrobat software unexpectedly becomes unavailable, this same workaround can help.
