When I click on a PDF file in webCafé, it doesn't seem to download or shows a blank page. How can I download or print the file?
On behalf of Wharton Computing, we apologize for the difficulty you encountered with downloading PDF content. However, this isn't a problem with webCafé Classic specifically, but rather with website-delivered PDFs in general.
When you click on an icon for a PDF file, it may appear as a blank white or gray page -- or show a Stopped message at the bottom of the browser window -- rather than presenting the expected first page of the PDF file. Here are some possible workarounds for this issue:
1) Right-click workaround: By right-clicking on the filename rather than the icon, you can select Save Target As… (IE) or Save Link As... (Firefox, Safari, Chrome) to download the file directly to your PC for reading or printing:

A Save As pop-up dialog will appear, allowing you to save the file to a particular drive or folder.
If the right-click workaround doesn't help with your Firefox browser, or results in a file being saved which doesn't contain the expected content, then try the settings change shown below.
2) Change how PDFs are displayed: This settings change may solve problems with clicking PDFs to view them, but it changes the window in which the PDF file will appear. In your Adobe Reader or Acrobat software, in the Edit menu choose Preferences..., and in the pop-up Preferences window choose Internet. If "Display PDF if browser" is checked, uncheck it and press OK. This change can be especially helpful if you are getting a Stopped message in Firefox.
Also see this related article for Google Chrome PDF difficulties specifically.
3) eRoom plug-in software: The optional eRoom plug-in software for Windows may be compatible with your computer's operating system and preferred web browser; see our plug-in tutorial to check whether it is possible to use this optional software with webCafé on your computer. With the plug-in software active, PDF files will always appear in your Adobe Reader or Acrobat software (or other application you use as the default viewer for PDF files).
