<![CDATA[<p>A file I wish to edit, move or delete is "reserved for editing." What should I do?</p><p><span id="bodyfont" style="font-family:Verdana; font-size: 10pt;"><p>If a user did not finish all steps when editing a file, the file may remain in a "reserved for editing" state that prevents anyone from editing, deleting or moving it. Unless you are a room coordinator, you can only remove editing reservations on files you personally started to edit.</p>
<p>If you personally reserved the file for editing and wish to remove the reservation, in most cases you can simply start to edit the file again; you should be prompted to choose whether to upload your changes or to "abandon" the changes and release the editing reservation.</p>
<p>Otherwise, to remove an editing reservation if you are a room coordinator (instructor, TA or staffer in a course using <strong>web</strong><em>Café,</em> or coordinator of a non-course room):</p>

<li>Right-click on the item or file, then choose <span style="background-color: #cccccc">Access Control</span>. (Or you can check off the item's checkbox and then click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">access</span> toolbar button. To expose checkboxes if they are not shown, click the <span style="background-color: #cccccc">commands</span> button.) The <em>Access Control</em> screen will appear.<br />

<li>The Access Control screen will appear. On this screen you can uncheck the "Reserved for Editing" checkbox and then press <span style="background-color: #cccccc">OK</span>; you'll be asked to confirm the removal of the reservation by pressing <span style="background-color: #cccccc">OK</span> again. </li>

<p>In some cases there will be more than one "Reserved for editing" checkbox to clear, particularly if you are trying to delete or move a folder that contains other items.
