A file I wish to edit, move or delete is "reserved for editing." What should I do?
If a user did not finish all steps when editing a file, the file may remain in a "reserved for editing" state that prevents anyone from editing, deleting or moving it. Unless you are a room coordinator, you can only remove editing reservations on files you personally started to edit. If you personally reserved the file for editing and wish to remove the reservation, in most cases you can simply start to edit the file again; you should be prompted to choose whether to upload your changes or to "abandon" the changes and release the editing reservation. Otherwise, to remove an editing reservation if you are a room coordinator (instructor, TA or staffer in a course using webCafé, or coordinator of a non-course room): In some cases there will be more than one "Reserved for editing" checkbox to clear, particularly if you are trying to delete or move a folder that contains other items. This Help & Support/FAQs article offers a procedure for iteratively removing "Reserved for editing" settings so that a high-level or mass deletion can take place.
