Why doesn't webCafé show "thumbnail" images of photos in a folder?
webCafé treats photo files (JPEG, GIF, etc.) just like other files. Unlike with dedicated photo-sharing or photo management sites like BubbleShare, Flickr or PictureTrail, there are no capabilities in webCafé for thumbnails, slideshows or other photo-specific functionality.
We prefer, and we are sure you would prefer, for the webCafé servers and storage space to be available for course work rather than tied up with users downloading full-size photos -- especially as finals approach.
Especially because of the large size of photo files copied directly from today's multi-megapixel cameras, when you wish to present photos using webCafé we encourage you first to set up a photo page at one of the popular photo-sharing sites, such as:
Once you have the URL (web address) of your photo album, you can establish a direct link from webCafé. Locate the folder in webCafé where you want this link to appear, then press the create button in that folder's toolbar. Choose to create a Link, then fill in a title (descriptive name) for your photo album and enter its URL (web address beginning with http:// or https://). Then press OK.
The link to your photo album will now appear as a clickable icon in the Attachments box.
Another option for MBA student photo albums is WhartonLink, although its photo albums do not appear until you have logged in.
