When trying to open a PDF file, a message pops up saying the file "cannot be found" or "cannot be repaired." How can I fix this?
If you use the eRoom plug-in software and click on a PDF in webCafé to open it, occasionally you may see a pop-up error message in Adobe Reader or Acrobat, rather than the file: The file cannot be found. or There was an error opening the document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired. Older versions of Adobe Reader may display this error message when a PDF file is downloaded from the web and then shown in a web browser window. This can happen with any web site, not just webCafé. This problem can usually be fixed by upgrading your Adobe Reader software; it is free and can be downloaded here. If you have the Adobe Acrobat software instead of Reader, it's recommended that you not also install Reader but instead change a setting so that PDF files are shown in an Acrobat window. Adobe has more information for that setting change on its support web site; see "Configuring the browser to open PDF files in an Acrobat window" within this Adobe support article.
